Miller & Associates CPAs, was founded in Denver, CO in 2011 by Mike Miller, CPA. We focus on building personal, long lasting relationships with our clients. We have a reputation for providing strong financial guidance both on a personal and business level that help our clients increase their overall equity position while minimizing their tax liabilities. Our expertise is taking complex situations and breaking them down into small, manageable, easy to understand pieces to help eliminate confusion and frustration. Mike Miller, CPA

President

Mike has been practicing as a tax practitioner with Miller & Associates CPAs since 2011 and has been preparing returns for over 20 years.

Mike earned his CPA in 1997 and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Colorado State University in 1988. Prior to starting his own firm he worked in various corporate positions as Controller/Director of Accounting and Human Resources in a wide range of businesses including manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, and real estate with total annual revenues ranging from $100 million to $26 billion. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as an auditor with clients ranging from oil and gas, manufacturing, retail, distribution, computer software, service industries, and governmental entities.

His broad range of experiences has taught him how to take the complex and make it simple. Specifically, taking 20 years of financial management skills and knowledge to focus on planning to achieve the lowest possible tax liability, while incorporating high level corporate tactics to maximize business profits and streamline accounting tasks for clients.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (tax member and personal financial planner member) and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a board member for Dolls for Daughter & Kenzi’s Kids, a Denver-based non-profit organization supporting underprivileged children.

When he’s not busy working, you will find Mike running half-marathons, climbing 14ers (20 so far), and traveling with his wife and family.

Alisa Lund, MBA, PMP

Accounting Manager

AAlisa has an Accounting degree from Kansas State University, an MBA from Cameron University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She is a member of the national Project Management Institute and PMI Mile Hi Colorado. Alisa is also an Online Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Alisa has over 15 years of accounting and budgeting experience, having worked in several industries including hospital accounting, budgeting analyst for defense contractors, and small business ownership. Being an army dependent, she has lived and worked all over the world. She lived here in Aurora during high school and the start of college, and decided that after the army was done moving her, should would make this area her permanent home.

When she is not working in accounting, she has her own portrait photography business, Xanadu Dreams Photography, focusing on family, children and pet portraits. She is also active around town doing 5k’s, volunteering, attending concerts and local events. She also enjoys making jewelry, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandson.

Amy Cain

Staff Accountant

Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Denver. Amy is also a Certified Online QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Amy has several years’ experience in small business accounting and taxation, working in both public accounting and industry. In addition to small business taxation, Amy also has experience in individual and trust taxation. Before returning to her native Colorado, Amy spent 10 years in Madison, Wisconsin where she gained experience working with small business clients and individuals, as well as working in a tax department of a large, publicly held corporation.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys the Colorado outdoors, gardening, cooking, crafts and hiking.

Angelia Jones

Administrative Assistant

Angelia, or Angie for short, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Indiana University. After 14 years in Corporate America, she decided to branch out on her own and start a personal and professional concierge service – Here for You, LLC. She has been assisting her clients with streamlining processes, helping them get organized and become more efficient, and providing bookkeeping services. Over the years, she’s gained invaluable experience with several different business professionals, while building reputable relationships with numerous clients and customers. Her background in Corporate America has given her irreplaceable knowledge about how to run a business, build relationships with clients, and go the extra mile to get the job done. Angie is also an Online Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

When she is not busy working, she enjoys being active, going to art festivals, concerts, and exploring the great outdoors. She also believes in giving back to the community. She’s been involved with numerous charities and non-profit organizations throughout the years. Most recently, she’s been giving her time to The Kempe Foundation. She’s also participated in Light the Night Leukemia Walk, Bonfils blood donations, Tri for the Cure, and adopting children for Christmas.
